The Story So Far

From big tech roles to co-founding companies and scaling teams.

Early Career & Big Tech

Matej started out with engineering roles at Apple, Microsoft, and Ericsson. Working inside those companies gave him a solid foundation in how large-scale software gets built and shipped.

The Startup Journey

After big tech, Matej wanted to build his own things. He co-founded MochaLabs, a product incubator where he handled architecture, product decisions, hiring, and mentoring across several ventures.

One of those was Sportening, a sports community platform that grew to over 500,000 users with a team of 30+ engineers. The stack was Elixir, Kafka, Kubernetes, Terraform, Grafana, and Prometheus, built to handle real traffic from day one.

Before that, he co-founded Vibby, a video collaboration platform where he was CTO and ran product and engineering. Vibby was acquired in late 2019.

TradeLocker

Now Matej is Co-Founder & CTO at TradeLocker, a trading platform used by millions of traders across over 100 brokers and prop firms. He grew the company from zero to 80+ people and built out the architecture, infrastructure, and security from scratch. Everything he learned building previous companies went into making TradeLocker work at this scale.

Philosophy & Outlook

Matej cares about the full picture: the tech, the product, and the business. The best technical leaders he's worked with understand their market, talk to users, and build teams that can move quickly without breaking things.

Outside of TradeLocker, he mentors early-stage technical founders, invests in startups, and advises companies that are figuring out how to scale their engineering teams and products.
